Aevornix Studio privacy notice
What the Aevornix Studio desktop application keeps, where it keeps it, and what leaves your computer. Aevornix Studio is a video editor for Windows: it has no account, no sign in, no telemetry and no analytics.
What we collect
Nothing. The application does not collect usage data, crash reports, device identifiers, location, contacts or any other personal information, and includes no advertising or analytics components. We do not collect, receive, store or sell personal information through it.
What the application holds
Everything below is on your own computer.
- Projects and media
- Projects, media, titles, rights records, versions and exported files, in the locations you choose. Imported media is referenced where it already is and is not copied or uploaded.
- Working files
- Proxies, poster frames, waveforms and other working files are created on your computer.
- Logs
- Each session writes a log in the application’s data folder: the application version, whether FFmpeg was found, projects opened, files that could not be read and the outcome of each export. Logs may contain file and folder names, are never sent automatically, and are replaced as newer sessions are recorded. You can open the log folder from the command palette and delete it at any time.
When the application connects to the internet
Only when you choose to download FFmpeg, during first run or from Settings. The application then downloads an LGPL build of FFmpeg from the BtbN FFmpeg-Builds project on GitHub. That request goes to GitHub, not to us, and GitHub’s privacy statement applies to it. If you do not start the download, the application makes no network connection. A web link you choose to open opens in your default browser.
Other components
Parts of the experience that other publishers provide.
- Microsoft Store
- Installation, updates and Microsoft Store purchases are handled by Microsoft under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. Licences can also be bought from the Aevornix Software Store at aevornix.online, under its own terms.
- Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime
- Displays the application’s interface, and is provided and updated by Microsoft.
- FFmpeg
- Once present, runs on your computer to read and export media, and is given files on your computer only.
Your rights and who to ask
Aevornix is an operating division of Oxford Private Studios Ltd, the publisher of Aevornix Studio. Because the application keeps your data on your own computer and sends nothing to us, we hold nothing to give you access to, correct or erase. If you choose to share a log for support, we use it only to answer your request.
