Aevornix Automate privacy notice
What the Aevornix Automate desktop application keeps, where it keeps it, and what leaves your computer. Aevornix Automate builds and runs workflows on your own computer: it moves files, calls web services, runs scripts and operates other Windows applications on your behalf. It has no account, no cloud service, no telemetry, no analytics and no advertising.
What we collect
Nothing. Aevornix Automate sends nothing to us: your workflows, run history, credentials and settings stay on your computer. We do not sell or share personal information, because we receive none.
What the application holds
Everything below is written to your own computer, in the application’s local data folder, unless you choose another location.
- Workflows
- The workflows you build, their saved versions, notes, tags and schedules, in a local database.
- Run history
- For each run: its status, timing, the data each step received and produced, and its logs. By default run records are deleted after 90 days, step data after 7 days and run logs after 30 days. You can change each period in Settings, Storage.
- Credentials
- Passwords, API keys and tokens you save for a workflow are encrypted with Windows data protection for your user account and kept apart from the workflows that use them. They are removed from logs, run history and error messages, and an exported workflow never contains them.
- Screenshots
- Pictures taken by a Take Screenshot step. Those saved without a chosen location are deleted after 7 days by default; those saved to a folder you choose stay until you delete them.
- Recordings
- When you record an automation, the clicks and text you enter become steps in a workflow. Pointer movement is not recorded, and nothing typed into a password field is recorded.
- Application logs and audit history
- Records of the editor and background runner starting, triggers firing, workflows being activated or imported, credentials being created, changed, copied or deleted, and errors. Credential values are not written to them.
- Diagnostic packages
- Created only when you choose Export Diagnostics, and saved only where you choose. They contain the application logs, audit history, settings and version details. Credential values are not included.
What leaves your computer
Only what your workflows send. An HTTP Request step, a polling trigger or a download connects to the address that step names, carrying the data and credentials you configured for it. A script step runs the PowerShell, command or Python script you wrote, which can do anything that script does. Aevornix Automate connects to nothing on its own: there is no update check, no licence check and no usage reporting.
Other applications, the screen and the clipboard
Desktop automation steps read the names, text and properties of controls in other applications, and click, type and capture the screen, only when a workflow you run tells them to. Clipboard steps and the clipboard trigger read the clipboard only in workflows that use them. Aevornix Automate finds other Aevornix applications on the same computer through local files and a local connection; nothing about them leaves your computer.
The background runner
Workflows you activate run in the Aevornix Automate Runner, a background process on your computer, so schedules and triggers work while the editor is closed. You can stop it, and turn off Start with Windows, in Settings, Runner.
Updates and purchases
Updates, purchases and licences are handled by the Microsoft Store under Microsoft’s terms. Aevornix Automate contains no update client and does not check for updates itself.
Removing your data
Deleting a workflow or a credential in the application removes it. Workflows, run history, credentials, screenshots and logs are kept in the Automate folder inside the Aevornix folder of your local application data (%LOCALAPPDATA%), so that the command line and your workflows can use them. Uninstalling Aevornix Automate does not delete that folder: delete it yourself to remove everything the application held. Files your workflows wrote elsewhere, and diagnostic packages you saved, remain until you delete them.
Children
Aevornix Automate is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone.
Your rights and who to ask
Aevornix is an operating division of Oxford Private Studios Ltd, the publisher of Aevornix Automate. Because the application keeps your data on your own computer and sends nothing to us, we hold nothing to give you access to, correct or erase. The services your workflows connect to are responsible for what they receive under their own terms. UK and EU data protection rights apply to anything we do hold, which is what you send us directly.
