Aev Brush privacy notice

What the Aev Brush desktop application keeps, where it keeps it, and what leaves your computer. Aev Brush is an image editor and painting studio for Windows: it has no account, no sign in, no telemetry, no analytics and no advertising, and it works offline.

What we collect

Nothing. Aev Brush makes no network connection of its own, and your images, projects and settings are not sent to us or to anyone else. We do not sell or share personal information, because we receive none.

What the application holds

Everything below is written to your own computer, in the AevornixAev Brush folder inside your Windows local application data folder.

Your images and projects
Read from and saved to the locations you choose. A save can keep a backup copy beside your file when that option is on.
Settings, workspaces, brushes and palettes
Your preferences, your panel layouts, and the brushes and palettes you make or import.
Recent files
The paths of the files you opened last, with a small thumbnail of each so the list can show them. A thumbnail is deleted when its file leaves the list.
Recovery copies
Taken while a document has unsaved work, so it can be offered back after a crash or a power cut, and deleted when the document is saved or closed normally.
Undo history
A large history is held in a file while the document is open, and deleted when the application closes or, after an interrupted session, on the next launch.
Logs and crash reports
A record of what the application did, identified by a random session id rather than by you. A crash report holds the time, the Windows version and the technical error. Neither contains image content, although a log or an error can name the path of a file you opened.

Plugins

Aev Brush can load plugins you choose to install. A plugin from another publisher runs with the same permissions as Aev Brush, may behave differently from the application, and is governed by its own publisher’s privacy policy. Aev Brush installs no plugin on its own, and safe mode starts the application with plugins turned off.

Updates

Updates are delivered by the Microsoft Store under its own terms. Aev Brush contains no update client and does not check for updates itself.

Removing your data

Deleting the Aev Brush folder in your local application data folder removes the settings, recent list, thumbnails, recovery copies, logs and crash reports. On Windows 10 version 1903 and later, uninstalling Aev Brush removes that data as well. Your images and projects are wherever you saved them, and are untouched by either.

Your rights and who to ask

Aevornix is an operating division of Oxford Private Studios Ltd, the publisher of Aev Brush. Because the application keeps your data on your own computer and sends nothing to us, we hold nothing to give you access to, correct or erase. UK and EU data protection rights apply to anything we do hold, which is what you send us directly. Write to enquiries@oxfordprivatestudios.com with a question about this notice, or to dpo@oxfordprivatestudios.com to exercise a data protection right.
