Privacy policy

Aevornix Browser does not collect your data. There is no Aevornix account, no telemetry, no analytics, no crash reporting and no advertising. Your browsing history, bookmarks, downloads and settings are stored on your own computer and are never sent to us.

This policy sets out the few occasions on which the browser contacts a server, and what happens to your information when it does.

What we collect

Nothing. We operate no server that receives your browsing data, and the application contains no telemetry, analytics or crash reporting of any kind.

What is stored on your computer

The following is written only to your own machine, in your Windows user profile folder, and is not transmitted anywhere:

• Browsing history, bookmarks and a record of your downloads
• Settings, including your theme, search engine and privacy choices
• The local Shield ledger, which records what the browser blocked so you can review it
• Site permissions you chose to keep, and the sites you asked to stay signed in to
• Cookies and site storage

Most cookies are held only for the life of a tab and are cleared shortly after you leave a site. Cookies persist only for sites you explicitly mark with “Stay signed in here”. You can delete all of it at any time from Shield Center, or by uninstalling the application and deleting its folder.

When the browser contacts a server

Websites you visit

The browser connects to the sites you ask for. Those sites have their own privacy policies and we have no involvement in what they collect.

Searching

A search term is sent to your chosen search engine. DuckDuckGo is the default; Google and Brave Search are also available. Their own privacy policies apply.

Pressing play on OPS Radio

Nothing is requested until you press play. Your device then requests the current playlist from a Google Firebase database operated by Oxford Private Studios, and the audio and artwork from Bunny CDN and Google Cloud Storage. Those providers process your address in order to deliver the response. No identifier is attached, no record is kept of which listener requested what, and no listening statistics are sent.

Opening a Tor tab

Nothing runs until you open a Tor tab. The bundled Tor client then connects to the Tor network. Traffic in a Tor tab is routed through Tor and does not reach us.

Updates

Updates are delivered by the Microsoft Store under its own terms. The browser contains no update client and does not check for updates itself.

That is the complete list. The browser makes no other outbound connection on its own initiative.

What we do not do

We do not sell, rent or share your information, because we do not have it. We do not build a profile of you, we use no advertising or tracking technology in the application, and we neither require nor offer an account.

Blocklists

Tracker and advertising blocking uses lists shipped inside the application and matched on your own computer. The browser does not send the addresses you visit to any service in order to check them, and it does not download blocklist updates on its own.

Children

Aevornix Browser is a general purpose web browser and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or erase on your behalf. The data the browser creates is on your machine and entirely under your control.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version appears at this address and the date above is revised. Material changes are also noted in the release notes for the version that introduces them.
